- Adventure in Underwater World.
Abstract
- This project is an application which show how an undersea environment looks like. Besides exploring the underwater world by moving around, user can learn what kind of fishes or plants that are in the underwater world. With game elements included, user will have to complete a few missions in the underwater world.

Goal / Problem Statement
The project aims to give user the experience of exploring the underwater environment.
Diving in the underwater is a rare experience. Although there are a lot of places that offer snorkeling and diving to tourists, but not every people from all ages are recommended, especially for kids and old people, who is not recommended for diving underwater. Thus, instead of diving, this application allow users to go further in an underwater environment. Virtual application is to give user a rare experience in the world of underwater. The deeper underwater world might be dangerous in real world considers that oxygen is needed for human, so, using virtual application can solve this problem.
With VR technology, user can explore the underwater world easily without going to the real underwater. Although the experiences of virtual and physical are different, but at least the VR technology can immerse users through the environmental visuals and also audio effects.
This project is not a new totally new idea and similar application had been done before. But in order to make this application different, I have included some educational information and also game elements so that most of the users, especially kids and teenagers will find it more interesting on learning from game-based application.
Objective
- To allow user to access to underwater world through virtual application.
- To immerse user through environmental visuals with audio effects.
- To learn what kind of plants and fishes are living in underwater.

Description
Before entering to game scene, the introduction of the application will be displayed, then followed by basic control and navigation guide.
There will be 2 levels in this underwater world. For first level, user can move around in the underwater environment and interact with fishes and plants to get the detailed information of it.
For second level, user can go deeper but not beyond the limited deep water level which could harm human. However, there will be some deeper sea creatures such as bigger sharks. User can still interact with those big creatures by clicking them.
Interaction Description
- Player is be able to walk around through directional keys on the keyboard.
- A guide NPC will follow player and tells what the fishes / plants are and what to do next.
- Mini map will be on the top right of the scene.
- A meter bar will show how deep user currently is.
