Game Title
- Polluted River Infection - The Adventure
Story Background
- The protagonist is a human who has magical power.
- A mysterious portal takes the protagonist into an unknown place near a village.
- When he awake, he found himself in the village.
- Most of the villagers were infected by unknown virus.
- To investigate why the villagers were infected, the player has to investigate the sources of it.
- Some villagers said that the villagers are infected by the virus after drank and used the waters from the river.
- Villagers suggested the the river is being polluted.
- Player go and collect a few samples from the river to test whether the water has problem or not.
- Player use his magical power to test the water to check whether the water has problem or not.
- Results are shown in color (based on water quality test kits).
- Player find out the water is dangerous because it was infected by unknown virus.
- Player is going to find out where the virus came from?
- Player meet a farmer at the farm, the farmer is formerly worked in the evil factory and he told the player that the secret behind the factory.
- After figure it out the sources are from a factory nearby. Player will be going there and destroy the object that causes the virus.
- The factory is a restricted area, player will have to sneak in without notice.
- Player will have to find where the object that polluted the river located at.
- After found the problem, player will find ways to prevent it from happen. (In this case player will have to destroy the path to prevent it direct to the river)
- Player need to find an item that can cure the virus and go back to the village.
- While going out from the factory area, the player will be chased by enemy AI.
- Player will have to go into the underground maze of the factory and find a way out from
the maze. - The maze will have a lot of locked door and player will have to unlock the doors by using
item/keys or answer question. - Use the items to cure the villagers.
- The virus later will be identified as cholera.
Ideation Refinement
Task for each levels
Level 1 - What is the things that made the villagers infected.
Level 2 - Where is the main source of the virus came from.
Level 3 - To find out the reason and stop the water being polluted continuously.
References : Industries waste into river from factory caused water pollution.
References : Polluted water could cause disease such as cholera, human beings are not aware of it only until the second half of 19th century where a devastating cholera outbreak happened in London that killed more than twenty thousand people.
*The virus symptoms in the game would be base on cholera symptoms in real world.
*The reason of the virus in the river would be base on factory industries waste into the river.
Interactions and Gameplay
Level 1
- Navigate around to check where the player currently is.
- Interact with the villagers who are infected.
- Navigate around to find the sources why the villagers are infected.
- Collect the samples from the river
- Use magical power to test the water conditions.
- The colors in the test bar will determine the conditions of the water
- Follow the water flow of the river and find where to investigate where it came from.
- Proceed to the farm and interact with the farmer to collect information.
- Proceed to the factory to find the source.
- Sneak into the quietly to avoid being spotted since the area is restricted.
- Find the object within the factory area.
- Find ways to stop the waste water direct into the river, which is destroy the path using his magical power. There will be a few path, which player need to destroy all of them.
- The object will have a health bar.
- Find items that can cure the virus within the factory area.
- Run away from the factory area after the factory workers spotted the player.
- Enter the basement maze to avoid being chased by the enemies, however, player need to find another exit to get out from the maze.
- Use that item on the villagers to cure them.
Game Elements
- There will be a helper indicator who will give tips and hints to the player when player need the help (begin of certain interactions).
- Mini map will be the indicator of where the player is, but only after a certain mission and quests.
- Timer will be applied to certain task which is to make the game more challenging and fun.
- In level 3, player is to sneak into the factory area without being spotted, however, there will be AI around the area where player must make sure can run away from their eye sights.
- Player will have an inventory that can pick up to only 5 slot of items,
- In level 1, while player is to collect the water from the river, they need an empty test tube or item that can collect the waters. The items can be found in the village.
- Stamina bar will be applied on the player, when player is walking, the stamina will be consuming from time to time. Player can eat foods to recover stamina.
- Player can get the foods from the villagers or find within the environment. The food from villagers will be some buns while foods that can find within the environment is fruits.
- Beside foods, user can also pick up waters to drink but only from the lake near the farm. Drink the waters from the river will reduce the stamina of player.
- If player use his magical power, the stamina will be consumed for certain amount. The player magical power are able to test the water quality, put indicator in the mini map to track enemies (level 3), walk faster (duration).
- In the factory area, the mini map will not be shown but player is able to track the item location using his magical power.
Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King
The kingdom of Trodain has been cursed by Dhoulmagus and the King, Trode have been transformed into a toad, however, his daughter, Medea, have been transformed into a horse.
The Hero and the lads will begin a journey to return them to their original form and save the kingdom.
