The Adventure - Polluted River

Abstract

This project is a game application which consists of few game genres such as adventure, and role-playing. The story of the application is about cholera threats to a village caused by river pollution. The protagonist is to find out what are the sources and have to stop them.

Goal
The project aims to develop an application using game elements to create awareness about causes and health threats of water pollution.

Objectives

• To educate about what are the main sources that always caused water pollution in real world. (factory and industry wastes)
  
• To teach user what are the health effects after using polluted water. (cholera)
  
• To give user an idea that they could make the difference for saving the environment.
  
• To improve user's decision making and problem solving skill.
• To allow user to have a different learning experience from games with appropriate visuals and audios.
  

Target Audience

• 9~12 years old

Story Background

• A mysterious portal takes the protagonist into a village.
• Most of the villagers were infected by unknown virus.
• To investigate why the villagers were infected, the player has to investigate the sources of it.
• Some villagers said that the villagers are infected by the virus after drank and used the waters from the river.
• Villagers suggested the the river is being polluted because a factory nearby released wastes into the river which could have pollute the river.
  
• Player use his magical power to test the water to check whether the water has problem or not.
• Player find out the water is dangerous because it was infected by unknown virus.
  
• Player is going to find out where the virus came from?
• Player meet a farmer at the farm, the farmer is formerly worked in the evil factory and he told the player that the secret behind the factory.
  
• After figure it out the sources are from a factory nearby. Player will be going there and destroy the object that causes the virus.
• The factory is a restricted area, player will have to sneak in.
  
• Player will have to find where the object that polluted the river located at.
• After found the generator, player need to shut it down,
  
• Player need to find a way out from the underground, however, all the doors are locked and player need to open it
  
• While going out from the factory area, the player will be chased by enemy AI.
• Player will have to go into the underground maze of the factory and find a way out from
  the maze.
• The maze will have a lot of locked door and player will have to unlock the doors by using
  item/keys.
  
• The virus later will be identified as cholera.
